BPS Choir Sing at Weldmar Service

Bridport Primary School’s choir made local history this week as they became the first ever school choir to perform at one of Weldmar Hospice care’s annual Light Up a Life services. Singing to an audience of around 200 people, the children delivered a moving and beautifully polished performance that left families, staff, and organisers full of admiration.
The choir performed four carefully chosen songs — Fix You, Somewhere Only We Know, Lean On Me, and A Million Dreams — each one adding to the reflective and uplifting atmosphere of the event. Their voices carried across the gathering with confidence, warmth, and remarkable musicality for such a young ensemble.
The choir did the school proud. Not only did they sing with heart, but their behaviour throughout the evening was described as impeccable, showing maturity beyond their years at what is a deeply meaningful community occasion.
Weldmar representatives expressed their gratitude and delight at welcoming the choir, noting that their contribution brought a special new dimension to the service.
For Bridport Primary School, it was a memorable milestone — and one that has clearly resonated with everyone who attended.
